CI Day Jam

Why?
It has been a long time since Cie Dégadézo thought about organizing a Contact Improvisation event in Strasbourg, which would gather dancers from Strasbourg, from its area and from elsewhere. Claire Hurpeau, dancer who recently settled down in Alsace, launched the idea of organizing a day jam in Strasbourg as it already happens in other cities in France such as Rennes and Grenoble. That’s why we propose for the first time a frame to dance all day long on October 17th 2015 and May 21st 2016.

For whom?
You are born as a dancer, you started dancing shortly ago or even not yet? … you are all most welcome!
Your curiosity and/desire to dance are invited to this event.
As soon as you get in the jamming space you dance as much as you like. You take care of your own rhythm, your own comfort, your own safety and those of the others. It’s up to you to decide when is the best moment to take a break outside of the dancing space. We are lucky enough to be hosted in a big and beautiful studio of the Centre Chorégraphique of Strasbourg Salle Dunham.
May the wish to sing or play music rise inside you, feel welcome to musically feed the jam. You like to draw, to write…? Again, feel free to add to the jam any of your artistic practice. Come empty of wishes and get inspired here!

How?
The Centre Choregraphique opens at 10am and we welcome you from that time. Thanks in advance to arrive around 10am if you didn’t register or didn’t pay yet. The arrival time is as well the time for the last registrations. After a short talking introduction we start the day with a warm-up lead by someone from the Company (about 45min). Then, the Jam is open! Between 6 and 6.30pm we finish the Jam with a sharing circle, and we will exit the Centre Chorégraphique at 7pm the latest.

Eating and drinking?
Along the day, the company let at your disposal: plastic cups, kettles, water, tea, sugar, and some fruits and snacks.
For your meal, bring your food for yourself or to share, we are on a « pique-nique » mode.
Thanks in advance for bringing your own plate and cutlery.

What do I need?
Cosy clothes for dancing.
For those who like to take a nap, bring what you need to cover you. There are some yoga mattress at our disposal in the Centre Chorégraphique.
